The Royal Christening Gown is a four-piece set… Along with the gown, you’ll receive a matching bonnet, cotton slip and preservation bag. The matching bonnet has two tiers of lavish lace and shimmery silk ribbon ties. The slip is made from combed cotton broadcloth material. It’s both comfortable and durable. A thick ruffle with generous gathering provides subtle volume to the bottom of the gown. This helps preserve the gown’s shape throughout the skirt. Our muslin preservation bag with padded hanger provide the proper environment for garment storage.

Piper Summer Christening Dress

Our newest dress is fit for an angel! The Piper is a simple A-line design with gorgeous details. A bouquet of chiffon roses makes a beautiful bodice. There are three rows of these pretty raw-edge flowers. The sheer cap sleeves are comfortably soft, so they won’t restrict her range of motion. Three layers of silky tricot make for a shimmery skirt. We love how gracefully the raw edges sweep the floor! Let her personality shine through with a colored satin sash. Tie it at her back or put the bow in front! Choose from pink, coral, baby blue, lavender or white. The sash is belted with subtle loops under each arm, so it won’t slide down.

The Piper dress is super comfortable! It’s made from Chiffon and Tricot. Each are soft and breathable fabrics. Not to mention super light-weight. She’ll feel like she’s wearing a cloud! Plus, no restrictive stiffness. Three simple buttons do up the back.

Scallop-edged cap sleeves allow for full arm range of motion. The light-weight materials are just right for warm summer weather. Bringing to life a piece I have been dreaming up is always a beautiful day for me. This gown is just as I had imagined it and seeing it on a little one is a true delight. To make it even better, the gown is machine washable! Having children myself I know the comfort in sometimes having something you can launder yourself instead of taking into the dry cleaners because there is only so much time in the day! So I wanted to highlight the two together by showcasing our dresses with a theme of May Flowers: Miss Lauren First Communion Dress. Light and twirly, but not overly poufy. Little girls love to twirl! Our new Ivy is just right for spinning. She’ll have a ball dancing and twirling in this princess dress. It’s not overly fussy, so she’s less likely to trip over gobbs of material.

Warm weather comfort. The Ivy Dress is made from three lightweight materials: embroidered organza, tulle and cotton. The organza bodice is scattered with colorful flowers and finished with a scalloped edge. The sheer tulle skirt ends mid-calf, making this a delightful tea-length dress. The bodice and skirt are fully lined with our soft, light cotton. This dress was designed to be comfortable during warm-weather months.

Inverted seam construction. No need for an undershirt for this dress. The seams of the Ivy Dress are sewn between the layers of material instead of on the inside of the dress where they would be against the skin. This means no more itchy seams!

All About Monograms

Today, we’re all about monograms. We love offering monograms on our baby clothes and gifts. What a wonderful way to add a personal touch to your little one’s special outfit! A gift becomes so much more when embroidered with her name or initials.

Just for fun, here’s a little background information on monograms:

“An individual’s monogram is often a very fancy piece of art used for stationery, for adorning luggage, for embroidery on clothing, and so forth. These monograms may have two or three letters.

A traditional 3-letter monogram has the initial of the individual’s last name (surname) set larger, or with some special treatment in the center, while the first name initial appears to the left of it and the middle name initial appears to the right of it. For example, if the individual’s name is Mary Ann Jones, and Jones is the surname, then the arrangement of letters would be thus: MJA, with the surname initial set larger in the center, the M for Mary to the left and the A for Ann to the right.” – Jeanine Twigg, Author of Embroidery Machine Essentials
