Halloween is Coming!
Halloween’s coming! Someone in the sewing room is excited…and clever, this ghostly web is made from cutting scraps of our lacy Lucy christening gown!

Miracle Babies & Christening Accessories
One of the fun things about my job is photographing babies. This smiley baby girl belongs to one of my oldest, dearest friends, and she is a miracle. I love saying that.
She showcased a lot in this shoot, items pictured here are: Lettuce-Edge Pima Knit Blanket, Camisole Bodysuit, Cotton Diaper Covers, Suzie After-Christening Outfit, Silver Plated Christening Rattle, Carnation Halo Headband.
Favorite Things: Baby Shower
We have three baby girls due in the One Small Child family in the next few weeks, and it’s been fun to watch our little mamas get ready to meet their much-anticipated daughters. With impending arrivals, of course we’ve had a baby shower or two!
I decided this was a perfect opportunity to share some of my favorite baby items with each of these girls, here’s the low-down on what made my list:
-A size range of our Pima Cotton Camisole Bodysuits: I had these for my baby girl, and let me tell you, it was a sad day when they were all in the wash & we had to use a regular old onesie…an absolute baby essential item. (There’s also a great sleeveless bodysuit option available for boys.)
-A hand-made bag for holding diapering essentials: such a nice thing to pack in your diaper bag, car, every room in the house…you really can’t have too many of these to keep diapers and wipes together and on-hand for a quick diaper change. Also, these were quick and FUN to make.
–Guess How Much I Love You is hands-down one of my favorite children’s books: I still read it to my 10, 8, and 6 year-olds!
-Soothie/Gumdrop pacifiers were a must with my youngest.
Of course, there’s a lot more that could have gone into these bags: when it comes to baby gifting, the options are blissfully endless…what is your favorite baby shower gift to give or receive?

Just Because
We always celebrate birthdays in our shop with a lunch party. Earlier this week, Vicky was looking at the calendar and, realizing that we don’t have any birthdays coming up, promptly announced that we were going to have a luncheon on Friday … just because we’re working well together! So we did. I’m here to tell you, these ladies can not only sew and pack orders, they can COOK! Yum. Now, to round up some of those salad recipes…
Circle of Excellence
We keep pretty busy around here…communicating with customers, sewing, filling, shipping orders. Not to mention working on new products and keeping the website up-to-date! It definitely takes the whole crew, and we’re always dancin’!
From time to time, we receive emails about this or that award, and they always bring a smile…but when a lovely crystal trophy shows up in the mail, now that gets some attention! It turns out we have been honored as one of 34 online retailers in Bizrate’s 2010 Platinum Circle of Excellence. When you figure how many thousands of online stores utilize Bizrate’s customer survey service, that’s amazing!

Holiday Open House 2010

In the spirit of the Thanksgiving feast I hope you enjoyed yesterday, here’s an out-take from darling little Caylee’s photo session last week. In the many years, we’ve been shooting portraits of babies in our gowns, 4 out of 5 definitely agree, our christening slips are just too tempting to resist!
Holiday Open House
Wow, Thanksgiving is next week! I hope you are looking forward to time with loved ones–I know I am. I absolutely love this time of year…and though I’m generally uber-busy, I love the opportunity the holidays present to enjoy my amazing family & friends.
