Over the next while, I’ll be converting the One Small Child customer photo gallery to this blog…I’ll be going through our current gallery and posting each photo as a separate post. This will be a work in process, so check back often to see your photos, and let me know what you think!
I adore so many things about this lovely gown. Lustrous silk dupioni cut in a simple style speaks of elegance and luxury without pretension. The gentle curve of the waistband is echoed on the brim of the bonnet and a vintage-inspired glossy lace is nestled at the waist for a truly unique finishing touch. The silk ribbon ties on the bonnet are soft as rose petals. The hem is finished with dual Venise lace on each side of a 100% pure silk ribbon, giving it just the right amount of detail.
Finally. It’s been in the works for a long time, trying to figure out the best way to offer international shipping with the fastest/lowest cost delivery and safest payment options. We are so pleased to be able to offer service to our friends outside the United States. You can find all the details here. We’re excited to hear from you!
My sweet niece just had a significant birthday and chose our Miss Pearl flower girl dress for her special day. It was so fun to see her flouncing around and feeling beautiful in her pouffy dress!
I’m not sure what’s going on with the color on this picture, but I wanted to load it up anyway–this is our new boys’ satin christening outfit, and I’m so tickled to have it on the site, ready to ship. It’s been a pet project of mine for a while now, and one of my favorite things about this job is seeing an idea blossom and transform into something that will become a treasured heirloom.
With short sleeves and long legs, this romper is a great fit for year-round christenings–a nice, soft mid-weight satin with classic details (just add a sweater if the weather’s cool). The braid trim detail is just gorgeous but done in a way that keeps the overall look masculine. And here’s a bonus: if you happen to have twins, or want your new little boy’s outfit to look similar to the gown his big sister wore (or vice-versa), Sawyer looks stunning next to our Satin Christening Gowns.
Have you heard? New things are happening over at One Small Child!
We are happy to announce that we’ve just added Paypal as a payment option for our site, and more changes are coming…stay tuned for some exciting new products and services.
The climate where I live is such that a baby really needs an undershirt all year, with the exception of maybe July and August. That said, warm-ish months don’t quite require full-sleeved coverage. Perfect for layering under ANYTHING, this camisole bodysuit was a staple of my baby girl’s year-round wardrobe. (Darn it, she’s grown out of bodysuits, or it still would be!) It’s particularly nice beneath sheer-sleeved or sleeveless tops or dresses, for special occasions or every day.
In regards to christening clothing, even if you are fortunate enough to enjoy warm weather year-round, have you ever noticed that it’s nearly impossible to find an all-white diaper? Particularly for little boys, there are times that the bright cartoonish graphics printed on today’s disposable diapers show through even heavy-weight white fabrics. The solution? A bodysuit of course! We offer three varieties of bodysuits: long-sleeved, traditional short-sleeved, and sleeveless to meet your particular needs.
Bonus: all our bodysuits are available with optional personalization. You can have baby’s name and date, a sentimental phrase, or monogram embroidered on any of our bodysuits for a truly unique keepsake of an unforgettable day.
Planning a late-spring or summer christening? Our christening blankets are ideal for wrapping around baby in a chilly church or unexpected breeze, or for placing under baby for impromtu portraits.
Made from many fabrics, these blankets are light-to-mid-weight…not too thin, not too heavy, and we have styles to complement any christening ensemble.
We just added a new after-christening dress to our selection at One Small Child, and I’m so excited about how the pictures turned out. This baby girl was born with all that long, thick blonde hair. She’s like a little china doll, so sweet!
The Sarah dress is a light-weight 100% cotton in a simple tea length and comes with a matching headband. It’s embellished with hand-stitched ribbon details, girly and cute without any fuss.
Babies and binkies go together like peanut butter and jelly. Okay, maybe not always, but hey–if you’re lucky enough to have a little one who finds comfort in a pacifier, you know the love-hate relationship that can develop between you and the easily-misplaced essential item.
For those of us who must never leave home without a pacifier, the invention of the pacifier clip is a blessing. And even better, the selection is always improving, a fact that makes accessorizing baby’s christening outfit much more pleasant. No longer are we forced to clip garish plastic cartoon characters to delicate white family heirlooms in the name of keeping baby quiet through the ceremony!
In that spirit, we’ve searched far and wide to gather a selection of silver-plated pacifier clips that add a sense of elegant personality to baby’s christening wear. Display a token of faith with our bunny pacifier clip, dress her up with our delicate butterfly pacifier clip, accessorize any girl or boy with our classic teddy bear clip…and there are more options to choose from!
These silver-plated pacifier clips are easy to care for–each comes with a washable ribbon. With time and use, they may tarnish a bit, but a quick rub with a silver polishing cloth will make them look brand new, making them a keepsake to treasure long after the pacifier has become a thing of the past.
