Finishing touches on the darling Chloe Christening Gown came together just today, and I’m pleased as can be to have it on the site and ready to go. The fabric on the skirt is amazing: dainty embroidered flowers are scattered all over the pretty lace. The entire dress is made of silk, in a flattering high-waisted cut. Silk ribbons stream from the bonnet. It’s a vision to behold, no doubt.
This baptism gown is a limited edition: only a small number of pieces were produced, so snap yours up today. I have a feeling it won’t last long!
{Update: response to this gorgeous dress was so great, we decided to bring it on to stay…yay!}
Wow, another year is nearly over! We sincerely hope your holidays have been and continue to be full of love, joy, and laughter as we bid farewell to 2010 and welcome 2011.
P.S. Isn’t little Caylee adorable in our new Mariana silk christening gown?
In the spirit of the Thanksgiving feast I hope you enjoyed yesterday, here’s an out-take from darling little Caylee’s photo session last week. In the many years, we’ve been shooting portraits of babies in our gowns, 4 out of 5 definitely agree, our christening slips are just too tempting to resist!
Once they were gone, and now they’re back…my favorite baby blankets ever! I had one of these for my little guy, and I’m here to tell you that these blankets offer a just-right combination of size, softness, and special-without-being-too-fancy-look. The mid-weight knit has a bit of stretch to it, so it’s great for swaddling, and the color is perfect for christenings and blessings, but also just right for taking baby to church or simply out-on-the-town.
Bonus: if our Aiden christening outfit is your cup-of-tea, this blankie is a perfect match!+

He’s modeling our classic Stefan christening gown, which as of today, has been marked to the great price of $69.50…you can’t beat a price, and this all cotton, short-sleeved blessing gown is perfect for late summer events. Order yours today!
Brand new: classic “Jon-Jon” styled shantung suit is comfortable, cool, and ALL BOY! The soft cotton shirt is cut in a bodysuit style, so no bulky undershirt flaps and bunches beneath the overalls, and a jaunty visor beret hat finishes off the look with plenty of personality! This returnable made-to-order item is available in seven sizes from Newborn to 24 months and ships within one week of your order.
It is a traditional gown…and it is silk! But there’s more: a matching visor hat ornate with a braid trim and a cotton (and comfy) slip beneath the gown!
Silk gowns are popular for the appealing ritzy fabric. We take the concept a step further: choose on of our matching rompers made from the same silk and you have a great look for after the ceremony too! Here are a couple of our popular silk rompers (pictured below: Francis, Charles, and Samuel). Adding one of theses with our silk William boy gown, sold separately, and you have a duo made in heaven!
As pictured here, many of our heirloom christening gowns feature an ‘heirloom-style open back’, meaning the back edges of the skirt are hemmed and buttons are placed part-way down the skirt to allow for flexibility in how you want the gown to be worn.
At times, it can be tricky to hold on to that darling baby amidst an abundance of christening finery…especially when some of those layers are slippery! The open back makes it possible to get a better grip on your baby, without bunching up the gown. It also allows you to drape the skirt more graciously in portraiture. And there you have it: open backs are, in this case, very convenient things!
