Dear One Small Child, The dresses on your website are very
beautiful, and the comments from so many past customers are very
impressive! I am looking for a first communion dress for my daughter
to wear in May, but I would very much like to find a dress that I
know was made by workers who are being paid a fair wage and are
working in decent conditions.
I wonder if you could tell me about your labor practice policy and
where a few of your dresses come from. I am especially interested in
the dresses that are labeled as being made in the USA. Are they made
on the mainland? Thanks for your help!
Best wishes, Suzanne C., Ann Arbor, MI
Hello Suzanne,
Thank you for your concern about the production of our communion dresses. Many
of our dresses, as well as christening gowns and outfits, are made in our
facility here in Blackfoot, Idaho.
Our seamstresses earn above the established minimum wage and we consider all of
them to be friends and part of our family.
The building we currently work in is well lighted and ventilated, heated in the
winter and cooled in the summer. Next week, we will be moving to a new building
that we have just finished building. It's even better than the one we are now in
and we are very excited to get moved!!
I share your concern about how people are treated and have a deep commitment to
provide good jobs in our community and to have a pleasant work environment. I,
and other members of my family, work along side our employees each day and
appreciate them beyond measure for the wonderful service they give on our
behalf.
Sincerely, Ramona Murdock / CEO
