The Christening Ceremony
When you christen your baby, you dedicate him to
Christ, presenting him at the head of all the
generations that have come before you. You recognize
your joint role with God in guiding the child in ways
that will bring him peace and joy. This ceremony may
involve sprinkling the head with water, immersing or
dipping the child, or blessing him by a laying on of
hands. Following the baptism, keep your baby warm with a
soft
christening blanket that can
become a lifelong treasure.
